With autumn settling in and the cooler months keeping people indoors a little bit more, the tendency to host warm parties at home rises, as does the need for a whiskey cocktail that warms the insides. Along with classic whiskey cocktails, let’s look at some other prized cocktails that go well with sugared rims and cinnamon sticks.
Bartesian capsules for the perfect pour
The great thing about these warm cocktails is the ease of making them. With the Bartesian cocktail machine, all there is to do is place one of many Bartesian pods into it and let it do the work.
What’s in Bartesian capsules?
Bartesian pods contain all the premium bitters, extracts, juice concentrates, and mixers that would otherwise need to be individually sourced, purchased, and stored. Once the capsule is inserted into the Bartesian cocktail machine, the cocktail is immediately identified via barcode and suggests the proper glassware on the user interface touchscreen.
How long do Bartesian capsules last?
Bartesian uses genuine juices, bitters, and extract concentrates and avoids the use of artificial colors, fructose, and corn syrups that would negatively impact the quality of our cocktails. Since the ingredients in each capsule vary, they can last from two to eight months from the date of receipt. Treat them like any other fresh food and consume them quickly for the best experience.
Beyond the date, there’s a chance that over some time the presentation may begin to gradually change (the color may slowly darken from the natural sugars), though the safety of consuming the cocktail will not have changed. The dates assume storage at room temperature. If stored in a fridge, you suspend them in their current state for an additional two months above the package dating. Capsules can safely be frozen and maintain their presentation for twelve months.
Whiskey cocktails and more for autumn
For classic whiskey cocktails, we have Bartesian pods for Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, Whiskey Smash, Manhattan, Mint Julep, Paper Plane, Sazerac, Boulevardier, Sidecar, and Penicillin cocktails. But spotlighted for this time of the year is the Apple Pie whiskey cocktail. This blends the warmth of whiskey and the timely taste of warm apple pie and cinnamon.
Not only is this a sweet combination of baked apple and fall spices perfectly balanced with hints of lemon and cayenne, but it can also be further decorated with a Sweet Cinnamon Vanilla Sugar Rimmer. Another great option for adding extra autumn flavor to a cocktail is Golden Demerara Sugar Rimmer. Don’t forget to garnish this whiskey cocktail with an apple slice and cinnamon sticks.
Rhubarb Spice Shrub
Another one of our Bartesian pods contains a mix for a Rhubarb Spice Shrub. This cocktail is rum based and another drink that can be decorated and spiced with cinnamon sticks. A "shrub" in the cocktail world refers to fruit-infused drinking vinegar. The acidity and sweetness of this apple cider vinegar is balanced out with the sour rhubarb, brown spices, and that famous spicy rum finish. The Rhubarb Spice Shrub is a fruit-forward crowd-pleaser.
